Electrification & Future Mobility Subcommittee
Chair: John Davies, FHWA
Vice Chair: Alex Bigazzi, UBC
The Electrification and Future Mobility subcommittee addresses a broad set of emerging opportunities to reduce vehicle emissions, including vehicle electrification, vehicle automation, micromobility, mobility sharing, and next-generation travel demand management. Its work is intended to help develop an evidence base for near-term policy actions that are critical to reduce emissions over the long term.
Core activities of the subcommittee include:
- Bridging gap between fundamental and applied research, particularly to support the planning practices and decisions of transportation and air agencies
- Disseminating best practices and case studies
- Identifying methodological needs / advancing state of practice (such as LCA analysis, particularly for consideration of GHG emissions)
- Serving as a methodological resource for addressing GHG / AQ impacts to support research of other TRB committees

Environmental Justice and Goods Movement Subcommittee
Chair: Cindy Copeland, Boulder County, CO
Vice Chair: Kanok Boriboonsomsin, UC Riverside
This subcommittee has two interrelated focus areas. The first is environmental justice in the context of light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicle impacts on air quality and climate and associated emissions controls. The second focus area is goods movement and diesel-powered vehicle air quality and GHG impacts and controls. Many communities have been disproportionately impacted by air pollution from transportation due to their location near major roads as well as freight facilities and corridors. Transportation is also the leading GHG contributor, and vulnerable communities are more susceptible to negative impacts of the climate crisis due to their lack of resources. The subcommittee is dedicated to improving research in these critical areas.

Paper Review Task Force
Chair: Shams Tanvir, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo
Vice Chair: Xiaodan Xu, Berkeley Lab
Solicit Papers
The paper review task force helps AMS 10 to craft a relevant and focused paper solicitation statement for the annual meeting.
Facilitate Peer-Review
The peer review task force convenes in August to allocate the submitted papers to reviewers. The task force tracks the completeness and quality of the required number of reviews for papers submitted for presentation and publication in the Transportation Research Record (TRR).
Organize Lectern and Poster Sessions
Once the peer-reviews are received, the task force selects the papers approved for presentation and recommends papers for further review by the TRR editorial board. Also, the task force designs the lectern session and poster sessions by thematically arranging the selected papers.

Summer (mid-year) Meeting Task Force
Chair: Annalisa Schilla, California Air Resources Board
Vice Chair: Ellen Greenberg, FAICP
The Summer Meeting Task Forces organizes summer (or mid-year)meetings to facilitate information sharing and strategic planning, and to help identify research needs.
